Huawei P9 to be unveiled this week at CES with 6GB of RAM?
As you might already know, we have already touched down in Las Vegas for CES 2016. The show begins on Wednesday, and one of the devices that might be introduced during the expo is the Huawei P9. That speculation comes from analyst Pan Jiutang. Not only does he expect to see the phone unwrapped at CES, he says that the handset will shock everyone by offering 6GB of RAM inside.

Jiutang also expects to see a dual camera set up on the device. Back in October, a label produced for the phone did indicate the presence of multiple lenses on the back of the P9. He also says that the 13MP rear camera will employ some sort of algorithm that has been several years in the making. The Huawei P9 will reportedly feature a 5.2-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. The home-grown Kirin 950 SoC will be inside with an octa-core CPU, and the Mali-T880 MP4 GPU.

Keep it right here for all of the latest news, product announcements and video to come out of CES 2016. As soon as we hear anything about the Huawei P9, we will pass it right along to you.

Good Call To Go With FHD. Gaming With The Mali-T880 MP4 Would Be A Nightmare On A QHD Device. 6GB Of Ram....At Least Open Apps Will Never Refresh LOL.

I Wouldn't Say Wow Or Amazing Just Because Sammy Or Apple Did Something And I Don't Think There's Anything Wrong With 6gb Of Ram, Unlike QHD Which Is Mostly Useless And Shouldn't Be On Phones Under 6in.

I think 6 gigabytes of ram is over kill, it's just for numbers, I mean how many apps do you need to keep open? 4 is plenty I think.

Seeing as many laptops settle for only 4GB of ram, yep 6GB will definitely be overkill.

If Android really needs that much RAM to run systems it's definitely a sad situation for Android. Before you say I am iPhone fan, I am not and I have never bought any Apple product ever. I currently use Nexus 6P and have had all the Nexus devices as they were launched. There is something they can learn from Apple in the RAM to processing dept. Or this is a race between Android OEM's to be the first to offering next non sense.

Um Android dose not need that much of RAM ? had no problems with my note 2 which only had 2GB of ram Huawei is known to do crazy stuff like this which is great because it pushes the boundaries of android and it's capabilities learn to appreciate things

QHD Is Unnecessary Yet That Doesn't Seem To Matter.

QHD is unnecessary? Then what's the point of shooting 4K videos if you can't watch it on your smartphone in it's full resolution, without downscaling?

Shooting In 4k And Downscaling To 1080p Still Looks Better Than Shooting In 1080p. The Cons Of QHD Outweigh The Pros, Unless You Use VR(A Lot) It's Utterly Useless On Sub 6in Devices.

QHD is unnecessary in 5.5" screen.
it IS necessary in a freaking 27" monitor.

You can't watch the 4K content in it's full res on QHD panels either... Do you mean UHD? And yes, he was right, QHD is unnecessary, but I would say just under 5.7" phones. At 5.7" I would like to have bigger res than FHD too.

I reckon it's just to show off, as most android phones overkill specs to get attention - which can be good, but can also be terrible *cough 4K *cough.

Didn't apple just double the RAM in all their iOS devices
And just put 4 GB of RAM in their iPad pro.

Kid, u do need to realize u cannot compare iphone shell with an full operating system.. so go tell apple why they putting so much ram in their macbook pros..OK

Let it need how much ever ram, as long as performance increases for the consumer , what exactly is the problem? Not like apple charges you less for giving you good performance on lower ram.

Bloody hell. I thought 4 GB was an over kill. Is there a point to have a phone with that much ram? Either way this will be interesting.

It would mean that they can expand the os without any lag (Touchwiz...). P8 has 3gb and it's buttery smooth but it uses almost all the ram it has.

the problem with lags on current flagships is not the lack of horse power.

As long as the software isn't optimized for 6Gb, it is completely useless to have it.
Like the 4k display on the last sony flagship

Your comment makes no sense. Thats like saying "If the software isn´t optimized for 256GB of storage it's useless". Do you even know what RAM is for?

Yeah, but tech sites like to post such rumours in order to bait people in... hence higher clicks revenues.

That's how business works.

Even with 16 GB RAM, and Android phone doesn't match a PC.

Hohoho, now I'm expecting the Surface Phone to come with at least 6GB of RAM...better yet 8GB and it'll be closer to replacing a Surface Pro 2.
