The wait is finally over for our UK friends, as they have the prime opportunity of purchasing the Acer ICONIA TAB A200 right now online. Sporting a price tag of $469 (£299), it falls in line to the previous rumor we heard about, but more importantly, it’s at a competitive price point that’s close to other similarly spec’d tablets out right now.

Naturally, it’s all fine and dandy that it’s available for purchase right now, but it’s mentioned to be delivered by January 6th. Needless to say, that “by” mention could mean many things – like possibly seeing it before January 6. Then again, you’re probably better off not thinking about it coming any earlier, so that your hopes won’t be dashed.

Knowing that it’s roughly £100 less than other similar tablets being sold in the UK, one will definitely be attracted to it – though, there are some things worth pointing out about it. For starters, it only packs a front-facing camera, which of course is great for self-portraits and the occasional video chatting sessions. Secondly, those other tablets come with 16GB of internal storage, whereas the Acer ICONIA TAB A200 packs only half the memory at 8GB.

In the end, it’s obviously going to come down to whether or not those items are important to you – if not, then the purchase will undoubtedly be a reasonable thing for you.

I thought havung 16 gigs on my ipad was enough but i was way wrong. The other thing is not having 16 gigs on the main board is going to slow it down the more apps that are on there even if some can be semi stored to sd card. I know this even with my ipad 2 and every phone i have had

not exactly true. Any flash memory used for caching is already reserved by the OS. Having 8 gigs instead of 16 only means less room to store stuff.
