if you want to buy a cheap windows phone 8.1 device and not a selfie addict, lumia 635 is a right choice. in my opinion this is a best WP 8.1 OS and hardware optimization. at least VGA front camera would be nice for skype video calls.
- Great Battery Life
- Perfect Handy Size
- Sensor Core (Pedometer)
- Display (4.5" , Colors , Gorilla Glass 3)
- 4G LTE
- Very Cheap
- Zippy Performance
- Available 1GB RAM Version
- No Proximity Sensor
- No Auto Brightness Sensor
My issues don't lie with this budget phone per se as with decisions by Microsoft. Microsoft eliminated an app called Lumia Storage Check that provided the function to store maps for offline use on to the SD card. With no reasonable explanation the company built a brand new Here app for Android phones with the added function of supposed storage on SD. The reviewer below oddly reviewed the 635 harshly after it was already being cleared from store shelves to make way for its successor, the 640. I offered a more balanced review as I was waiting for a decent budget phone and purchased it upon it's immediate release in the U.S. and I was not displeased with the phone--it served it's function. I was happy with it.
- UI fun and fast
- Internet browser is fast, pages load quickly
- Video plays consistently well.
- Good reasonable wifi reception.
- Good call quality.
- No issues with pretty demanding games.
- Great podcast app.
- Could use an upgrade for RAM
- Needs more internal storage capacity
- No offline map storage on SD
- Music app needs improvement adding efficiency with folder and song organization
There are so many things that are behind, and for a $129 phone, I don't recommend you buying it at all. There are tons of cons, including a lack of proximity sensor, and more. If you really wanted to buy it, use the Lumia 640 because of better speed.
- 4G LTE Speed
- Gorilla Glass
- Low Resolution Camera (5MP)
- No flash + No Front Camera
- Poor Single Core Score (Quad Core)
- Poor Multi Core Score (1.2 GHz)
- Low pixel density (218 ppi)
- Lacks Light Sensor
- Lacks Proximity Sensor
- Only 720p video
