Lg CU500

Phone owned for

On the battery issue that Garrigan mentioned I had trouble with the original battery. It would get very hot sometimes if I used it while it was charging. And it never seemed to hold much charge. Also there was a strange thing that would happen. I went to spend time in the hills north East of Sacramento. There was no coverage except on a hill near the house I stayed in. I would hike for exercise and near the top was one area where I had a signal but it said no access. At that spot and in the surrounding area the battery would get very hot and then the phone would go dead. The meter would show no charge. This would be in spite of a full charge when I left the house. There was another large area on the hill where I had good signal and could call out, with no weird battery drain. If I stayed in the "no access" but strong signal area and tried to use the phone till the battery went dead , it would later come half way back up as I descended back into the valley dead zone. Still, Its a great phone. Just not so good at that one "twilight" zone. :-)

I have the old version cu500 not the cu500v. I like the overall rugged design very much as I am a construction worker. I am a welder and i actually keep it in my pocket and so far it has survived the constant abuse of being laid on and squished when I am crawling around. It did have the problems the first poster mentioned. It would not take calls and was sending people off to my voicemail but to the secure side to pick up MY messeges. fortunately they were asked from my password which no one had. Also It would not give me voicemail alerts for a couple days and then would give me several all at once. I took it in and they made the correct settings and it worked fine since. So it is because the settings were not adjusted before it was sold to me. And the phone itself was fine. Also the keys are raised and rubberized so as to be more easily felt by my construction type fingers. When you do construction your fingers get fatter and less sensitive on the tips.
And the style of the clam shell design makes it easy to flip open. I especially like the swivel camera. I have taken my phone into secure areas by wrapping a bit of tape and paper around the lens and claiming it had no camera. Also I have pointed the camera out and down and then just held my finger over the lens and showed people see there is no cam. So it's a great little spy tool as I can film whle pretending to be looking at my phone messages or something. For the price it beats every phone I have seen.

I like this phone because of it style and I like it. Its better than motorola
razr thin and better design. This is unlock ATT phone and work with CINGULAR, T-MOBILE, SIM CARD anywhere in the world. My provider is T-MOBILE, show external screen. I just download GPRS and WAP SETTINGS on this phone, the connection is very fast to the WEB. This phone is durable, strong, not flimsy. The KEYPAD is very attractive and excellent. The sound quality is the best, depend on the adjustment of the volumn setting. The new features on this phone is great, lots of stuff to play with. I have people call me on their cell phone from ocerseas directly to my phone, the reception is great. Overall, it's excellent phone.

LG CU500v

I got the LG CU500v for my birthday and I have been very happy with it. The rotating camera has been fun, though I wish it had more zoom. The screens are bright and large. The keypad is very attractive with the brushed metal background and the black oval keys. It's also very thin, but also very durable, unlike the RAZR. I like the music player buttons on the outside too. The sound quality isn't the best, and it's sometimes hard to hear people, even in areas where I get full service. I'm always finding new features on this phone and I still enjoy using it. My major complaint is the MicroSD slot. I bought a 1 GB Sans micro card that fits into my phone, but my phone says "Memory card not ready". I bought this card from AT&T especially for this phone so you would expect it to work. I think I'll just buy a data cable instead so I can transfer pictures onto my computer instead. There are some nooks and crannies that are hard to keep clean and get dusty. But overall, it's a very nice phone and I've been extremely pleased with it.
