The FasTap Feature Is Hands Down All The Way...
My husband and I have had these phones for two years now. We got them just before they went into discontinued. The FasTap feature is the best feature of all. FasTap just means that all the numbers and letters are separate. No multi-tapping. The sounds on this phone are just too cool! It draws everyones attention. Makes many sounds that of a car closing the door, or unlocking, or a horn beep, varoom take-off, the breaks sound when you hit the wrong button, and more. The water-drop sound is just plain fun. Our grand-daughter liked ours so much that we purchased a second hand one for her too. I have used mine for texting, taking pics, web axcess. Everything that this phone can do, I used them all. Another feature I like is the speakerphone. It always comes in handy when you need to keep the hands free. Both screens have a great readout. The volume is nice and loud. Good selection of ringtones. Nice looking phone.
great phone for the price
I have had this phone for several months and love it so far. Far superior to the other phones ive had (4). The fasttap text feature is the best ive seen and the keypad functions very well. The backlighting is good. Sound clarity is good the opnly negative is at times it seems to amplify background noises. Battery life is excellent. Reception seems to be on par for the area I live in. For a vga camera it is decent, not the best of course but if you buy a cell phone for a digital camera you have issues. The only feature I wish it had would be all time TIME display on the flipface. I bought my phone for 29 dollars with a two year plan and other than the really cheap free phone offered it was by far the best value. If you text you must have this phone. And, if you dont its still an all around good phone.
A pretty average phone under that fancy keypad.
I got this phone from Telus up here in Canada a month ago, and have found it to work well so far.
The Fastap keyboard, the things that seems to always come up first when talking about this phone, really works quite well. I thought I would find the cramped keypad with its very small numbers and letters hard to use, but even with my big clumsy fingers, I rarely (if ever) hit the wrong buttons. When you do, the phone's software usually figures out what you meant to press, ruling out any frustration. Once you have a rough idea of where the letters are, the Fastap keyboard is just as quick or quicker than T9, and to me, a lot more comfortable. It's like typing on a computer, and we're all used to that.
As for the rest of the phone, well, it's not that exceptional. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a bad phone by any means. Quality-wise, I've found the AX490 to be outstanding thus far. Sound clarity is good and the screens are good, although the inside one has to be viewed from just the perfect angle to be readable, which gets annoying. It's just that when compared to similarly priced phones, you aren't getting a ton of features... certainly nothing that stands out. All the standard stuff, nothing else. The camera really isn't great at all. Probably the worst I've seen on a cell phone. It won't even adjust its light sensitivity automatically like most. I also find that for such a plain phone, the menus are needlessly complicated. My last phone was a Kyocera, which are supposed to...
i love this phone
i love this phone this phone has everything i need and its a diifferent design which turns heads
I JUST GOT THIS PHONE AND I USED TO HAVE A LG C1300. I LIKE THIS PHONE AND ALL BUT THE ONLY THING THATS MESSED UP IS YOU CAN ONLY DOWNLOAD TWO RINGTONES!!!. ON MY OLD PHONE I HAD UP TO 9. OTHERTHAN THAT I LIEK IT.
Pretty Good phone
I think that this is one of the best phones LG has come up with in such a long time. when designing the phones just make sure they have a secret feature.
