SpaceX has created a prototype of a smartphone-like AI device that integrates xAI technology, per The Wall Street Journal.
The device is reportedly slimmer than your average iPhone and designed to run an in-house operating system. The project is in its infancy, but if it actually gets made, it will be fueled by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
Elon Musk shoots down the rumor

The SpaceX CEO quickly labeled the report "utterly false." But, then again, there's rarely smoke without fire.
Musk has teased in the past that he would make a phone if he had to. He also previously refuted a Reuters report claiming SpaceX was developing a phone that would connect directly to its Starlink satellite constellation.
The idea of making a phone makes me want to die. But if we have to make a phone, we will.

The WSJ itself has reported in the past on possible efforts by SpaceX to manufacture a smartphone to bypass the way manufacturers such as Apple control the distribution of apps like X.
A SpaceX-branded phone would serve as a platform for Musk's tech empire. The prototype in question is inspired by Musk's vision for an "everything app," or a super app, that would host several mini apps.
What would make you buy a SpaceX phone?

SpaceX is exploring ways to reach cellular customers. It has several options, including building its own network, buying AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon, or partnering with a telecommunication company.

Control over both the hardware and the network would allow for greater optimization and create a new showcase for its latest innovations. The ecosystem will foster greater customer loyalty, giving SpaceX an edge over traditional networks.
An uphill task
Manufacturing a phone and getting it into customers' hands is easier said than done, as the Trump Mobile T1 phone has shown. But if Trump Mobile can do it, SpaceX can probably do it better.
With Musk rebuffing the rumors, a SpaceX-branded phone is unlikely to hit the shelves anytime soon.
