The OnePlus 16 appeared in a Geekbench listing a couple of days ago. The device is powered by the Qualcomm SM8975 chipset, also known as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. According to the scores, though, the chipset loses to the recently launched iPhone 18 Pro series devices and the A20 Pro chip.

Even though OnePlus decided to withdraw from the US and could even become a China-exclusive brand, the recent Geekbench listing is quite important.
The OnePlus 16 appeared on Geekbench under the model number PYB110 and showed what we should expect from next-generation Android flagships equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. The phone scored well, but it lost to its direct rival, the A20 Pro.

The OnePlus 16 scored 3,082 and 11,262 points in the Geekbench single- and multi-core tests, respectively. And while these results are impressive, they fall short of what the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max were both able to achieve.
For comparison, the iPhone 18 Pro scored 4,022 and 11,543 in the same tests, respectively, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max managed 4,025 and 11,525.
This puts Apple silicon on top of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6-equipped Android flagships—but with an asterisk.

Qualcomm already teased its next flagship chips, revealing that we'll get a duo. The Galaxy S27 Ultra is expected to get the top Qualcomm silicon, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, also referred to as the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.
This chip will also get the usual "for Galaxy" treatment, potentially pushing it further past the 5 GHz mark and giving it that little extra bit of performance to come out on top of the A20 Pro and the iPhones.

Back to the OnePlus 16: it's not just the chipset that impresses in this upcoming flagship phone. It's expected to feature a 6.78-inch BOE X4 OLED panel with a crisp 1.5K resolution and an ultra-fluid 165Hz refresh rate.
The camera system is tipped to be powerful as well, consisting of a 200-megapixel main lens with optical image stabilization, a 50-megapixel periscope lens featuring 3x optical zoom, and a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera.
The most impressive specs of them all, though, are the battery capacity and charging speeds. The OnePlus 16 is expected to boast a 9,000 mAh battery and 100W wired fast charging.
