Samsung Gear S3 gets better battery life via new update
The last major update for the Samsung Gear S3—Tizen 3.0, which rolled out in December of last year—was full of new features, but also took a bit of a hit on the Gear S3's excellent battery life. Samsung then halted the roll out and released a revised version that rectified the battery drain issues. Now, with things back to baseline, Samsung is rolling yet another update for the Gear S3 that aims at further improving battery life.

The latest Samsung Gear S3 update is currently rolling out in the US, Canada, and South Korea, SamMobile reports, with firmware version R760XXU2CRC3. Other regions should follow suit soon, although there's currently no information when. If you want to manually check whether an update is available for your Gear S3 smartwatch, you can do so by opening the Samsung Gear app on your phone and going to Settings > About Gear > Update Gear.

The official changelog for update R760XXU2CRC3 also mentions a "Bluetooth Connection Stability improvement," although it's not clear what this means at this point.

This is because gear s3 runs on Samsung's Tizen OS... Tizen OS = world's best OS

It related for tizen because they build it, but I have heavy doubts if they had the same number of smart watches like thier smartphones lines they would get often updates.

I would like to see this evidence of S3 getting an update every month or so

its because you havent become obsessed with the OS number on tizen and expect a yearly update. its a significant update at a random length of time

You're comparing the update speed of ONE watch, to the galaxy line of several phones? and non stock? with specific carrier branding? See how silly you sound now?

Since you didn't say anything about what you actually want or need from the update, Samsung should just start updating for "updates" sake. They should change the number in the changelog and add a couple of wallpapers every other week. Then, you can be proud of all the updates Samsung is handing out.

The last update killed my battery life. Hopefully this one actually helps!

Me, too! Well, I have a Gear S2 but the update hit that as well and it cut my battery life down by 30-40%. It dies around 7pm instead of having 20% left by 11pm.

I believe it is one of the official samsung sport watch faces.
