Shortly after launching the CMF Clip Pro and teasing something new, Nothing’s budget sub-brand has announced its next product. Once again, we’ll get a pair of earbuds, but they’re not what we expected.
Nothing announced the CMF Buds Neo are coming soon
Nothing’s budget sub-brand CMF teased a pair of earbuds earlier this week, and now we know those will be called the Buds Neo. The company shared another teaser on its X profile, revealing the name and the announcement date, which will be August 20.
Part of the post is also a teaser video, which has offered our first look at the charging case. Similar to other CMF audio products, the case appears to come with a smart dial, though its features are not mentioned.
What's the most important part of a pair of earbuds for you?
Get ready for some colors

The video may have also given us a hint about the available colors of the CMF Buds Neo. It appears there will be the following three combinations:
white and orange
black and blue
black and black
Judging from the earlier teaser, the combination relates to the color of the stem and the silicone ear tip. In the first image, shared by CMF, we saw a white earbud with an orange ear tip.
The previous image also revealed there will be at least two microphones and a circular design element, which is probably showing a touch control zone. This design is reminiscent of earlier CMF models, like the Buds 2 series.

Inspired by Apple, probably
Launching a budget device with the “Neo” moniker is certainly an intriguing choice from Nothing and CMF, as neither brand has ever launched a product with that name before. Apple, on the other hand, launched the MacBook Neo earlier this year to great success.
While the name may have been inspired by Apple, it’s unlikely the CMF Buds Neo will have any similarity to the AirPods Pro 3 or any other AirPods model. It would be interesting to see how much they’ll cost, considering all the company’s previous products have already been budget offerings.
I don’t know if someone at Nothing has heard my prayers, but I’m grateful we won’t need to wait too long to see all details about the CMF Buds Neo. It’d be great if that turns into the new strategy for the company, so we can avoid the lengthy periods of cryptic messages and cropped images.
