If you're an Apple iPad owner with a compatible version of the tech giant's tablet, AT&T is offering an Unlimited Day Pass that delivers on-demand connectivity for only $3 per day. There are no contracts to sign, the consumer's credit is not being scrutinized, and there is no subscription that starts and ends on certain dates. The customer's first day is free, thanks to AT&T, although the free first day pass is limited to one iPad per customer.
The Unlimited Day Pass requires an iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular support
The Unlimited Day Pass for iPad users requires that the customer own an iPad that has eSIM capabilities. That means the pass can be used only on Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad models. With this offer, AT&T becomes the first and only major U.S. carrier to offer on-demand connectivity to eligible iPad users.
Most iPad users purchased a unit with Wi-Fi-only connectivity
Most iPad owners buy the Wi-Fi-only version of the tablet, which limits where these iPads can go online. The Wi-Fi only iPads obviously can be connected to the internet via a Wi-Fi signal (hence the "Wi-Fi-only" designation), or through a mobile public access hotspot. But without cellular support, the Wi-Fi-only iPads do not have an eSIM, and this means that they are not eligible to use the Unlimited Day Pass.

AT&T points out that this option allows eSIM supporting iPads to have "dependable and secure access on demand." You can activate the Unlimited Day Pass for your eSIM-powered iPad by going to Settings > Cellular Data and adding the AT&T Unlimited Day Pass. Not long after you make the purchase using a debit or credit card, the clock starts on the 24-hour period.

Remember, for the first day the Unlimited Day Pass is on AT&T, and you can take advantage of the carrier's largesse one time per customer. You don't have to be an AT&T subscriber to sign up for the carrier's Unlimited Day Pass.
Which Big 3 US carrier do you see on top in five years?
AT&T says that this is another example of how it is giving people more flexibility and value without locking them into monthly contracts or subscriptions. While AT&T is offering this for the Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad, the carrier says that it will offer the Unlimited Day Pass to other 5G-enabled wireless devices "while delivering an even simpler, more seamless, on-demand connectivity experience in the near future."
