Xiaomi and Opera team up for Data Saver feature on MIUI 7
Xiaomi introduced the international version of its Android UI today, and one of the features on MIUI 7 helps Xiaomi users save data. Developed with Opera Software, the Data Saver is powered by the Opera Max data compression that will work on user's apps. It also will work with video streamed by Netflix and YouTube.

Since the MIUI Data Saver is basically the Opera Max Data Management app available in the Google Play Store, MIUI 7 users who enable the Data Saver feature will be able to turn a 10MB video into 3MB of data use. You will be able to see for yourself how much data you are saving each time you run an app or watch a YouTube/Netflix video. And if an app is running in the background consuming some of your precious data, it can be turned off quickly.

MIUI Data Saver is a very useful tool that can help Xiaomi users save data and dollars. And by cutting back on those apps receiving data in the background, users can also extend their battery life.
