Windows Phone version of Instagram gets update
For Windows Phone users, having their own Instagram app is heady stuff, even if the app remains in beta. It seems like it's been years since those using the platform started demanding Instagram. Who could forget the dumping of tea in Boston Harbor to protest the lack of a Instagram app in the Windows Phone Store? #2InstaWithLove app offered by Nokia to filter pictures taken by Windows Phone users. The app also allows users to post their handiwork on a social media site like Twitter or Facebook.

While a number of third party Instagram apps appeared in the Windows Phone Store, nothing compares to the original Instagram app. And now that the beta version of it is available for Windows Phone users, there has been an update to version 0.2. This update brings the ability to tag people in photos and when uploading content to the site, you can use the names of friends and followers. The update also allows you to add photos to maps.

If you're a Windows Phone user, keep in mind that updates like this one will eventually bring the app to parity with the iOS and Android version of it.  And of course there is the usual bug fixes and performance enhancements. Go ahead and take some time off to make sure that you've updated Instagram on your handset.
