We are treated to a sneak peak of the LG G3’s “QuickWindow” mode
Aside from all the technology that the LG G3 is expected to be packing, what we still know very little about is the actual user experience and functionality that will come with the device. We have seen images of how things may look, but nothing in action (yet).

Sure, it will run LG’s thick Optimus UI, but it runs well, and has so many customizations that folks that are used to rooting devices might actually forget (until they see bloatware or something).

Last week, we share some pictures of the LG G3 in the wild and with it was its Quick Cover case. The Quick Cover is an evolution of the QuickWindow folio case that is available for the LG G2. For the G3 however, there will be even more that you can do without opening up the phone.

The leak artist known as @evleaks shared a collection of a dozen screen shots of what the Quick Cover case will enable on the LG G3. Aside from the variety of clocks, there is weather data, health data, SMS, photo gallery, and a quick app/notification screen.

Knowing the depth of the Optimus UI, and having seen LG share tid-bits about its devices “getting to know you,” we would not be surprised if there was a whole lot more QuickWindow will be able to do on the new LG G3. All will be revealed (hopefully) on May 27th.

I hope the battery charging speed on the G3 is BETTER than the HORRIBLE speed on the Z2, and battery life as AWESOME as the S5.

It is funny. LG comes out with a square smartwatch, but their G3 contains subliminal advertising for a competitor's smartwatch. Oops.

Just not as ugly (excluding the Note. I like the Note design.)

Note 3 looks better than any other galaxies.

The S5 looks better imo, I had the note 3 for 6 months and the S5 for 3 weeks and I prefer the S5's design over the Note 3. I didn't like the perforated leather when I first saw the pictures, but I ended up liking it when I saw it at the t-mobile store.

Both LG and Samsung phones aren't considered as a strikingly beautiful phones(apart from the Optimus G which was dead gorgeous imo), but more for what they offer underneath the the hood.

So true. Although Note 3 ain't bad even though it looks like an oversized SII

Every company copies from the others, automotive manufacturers always do it and none of them complain or start a patent wars. Those gadget sites are getting into our heads and telling us what's right and wrong. 4UP camera are bad (they are not actually), plastic sucks, Apple are all about innovation (am not saying they are not, but they are overrated), your phone is worthless if it doesn't get updated, Z2 have a major issue which is overheating (while shooting 4k videos for more than 5 minutes, as if everyone spends their time shooting those damn 4k videos). Don't be a brand w**re, none of those companies care about you, put your money in the product you like, don't go with what those websites and reviewers tell you.

So in other words they're next-gen Samsung phones released 9 months early? That looks pretty bad for Samsung I think. :)

I am ok with company copying another, but I love it when a company improves what they copy. Although Samsung started this trend with their S-covers, I am glad LG took it to another level because this thing looks great and unique. I can't wait for the day the G3 will be announced, i believe it will be the best android phone in 2014

better do some research before accusing LG! S-view cover was inspired from LG HD LTE "s SMART Cover / pouch 2008. http://www.themobileindian.com/news/4891_LG-brings-new-LTE-phone-with-smart-pouch

My bad, I never heard of it. Still I wasn't criticizing LG, I was praising them for refining this type of covers.

I remember the 1st dual core phone, the Optimus 2x, I traded my Galaxy S plus $200 for it at that time. The 1st time I learned how to root and flash a custom rom was on the 2x.

The first to introduce the "quick cover" was LG, @ the CES 2012 for the Optimus LTE... hxxp://social.lge.co.kr/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/7.jpg hxxp://themobileindian.com/news/4891_LG-brings-new-LTE-phone-with-smart-pouch

That awkward moment when an Android OEM is trolled for copying Samsung of all people - the OEM that started it all. Moving on now; the G3 looks great from initial leaks. I sincerely hope the actual release is not a disappointment.

Potentially a somewhat sloppy UI design. Unless this feature cannot be used without the fancy case, it looks somewhat ugly at the very top of the screen, i.e. without any "blackspace" at the top. Hopefully for use without the special case or for use with other cases, the position of the "quickmoto360" window is configurable.

Holy crap, LG ripped off the Google watch UI and used it for their window, in fact, that might BE the google watch ui repurposed those lazy bastards!
