Video improvements and more found on the update to version 5.0 of Duo
Google's video calling and chat app Duo has been updated to version 5.0. According to the changelist, the update includes "major video quality improvements," which seems to be important for an app that handles video communications between different users. Justin Uberti, the technical leader on the Duo team, disseminated a tweet last night that includes four items on the changelist.

Uberti also posted a graph showing an uptrend of some sort. Neither the x or y axis was labeled, so we can only guess that the graph is supposed to show the rising number of Duo users happy with the improved quality of the video on the app.

Including the aforementioned major improvement in video quality, version 5.0 of Duo will feature:

  • Major video quality improvements
  • Simpler signup flow
  • Seamless camera rotation
  • Fix sound not playing issue
Version 5.0 of Duo should hit your device soon. If you're impatient, you can click on the sourcelink to update the app using an APK link. If you don't have Duo, you can pick it up in the Google Play Store and the App Store.
