Verizon ships some Samsung Galaxy S4 units earlier than expected
You can tell the Verizon customers who have received an email from Verizon saying that their Samsung Galaxy S4 has shipped earlier than expected. Those are the people with a ear-to-ear grin that nothing can remove. Originally, Big Red was going to launch the new Android flagship on May 30th before the release date was moved ahead a week. Now, a leaked screenshot shows that Verizon has started shipping out some of its customers' Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets.

Verizon customers have had to be extremely patient considering that Sprint and AT&T customers have been sporting their Samsung Galaxy S4 handsets for at least a couple of weeks already. As Yogi Berra is alleged to have said, it is deja vu all over again. Last year AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile all launched the Samsung Galaxy S III on June 21st or June 22nd. Verizon didn't release its variant of the device until July 12th.

If you're a Verizon customer who has received word that your Samsung Galaxy S4 is in transit, let us know about it by leaving a comment in the box below.

I dont understand why would someone thumb you down for saying what Alen F asked you. Maybe it's HTC, Sony,LG and etc fanboys. Jealousy is for the weak. I really don't understand why people are hating on Samsung so much. Or is that what happens when you're at the top, everyone just hates you. I remember days when everyone was hating on Apple, and they were supporting every Android manufacturers. Now Samsumg(Android) is at the top and people are hating on it. WHY? can someone let me? Why do we need to hate other manufacturers so bad, that we are always green with envy cos our favorite manufacturers can deliver what others can. Instead of being happy, we just hate, while we forget that this is good for the competition, which will benefit us the consumers. WHY SUCH HATE???????

@ SlimSoulha86, Was just about to say the same, why is Mike getting thumbed down?

Jealousy is the keyword there and it's pathetic that they have to show it by thumbing down Michael. He didn't troll, bash, or try to start a flame war. Just simplying because he is getting his SGS4, people have to hate on him. Grow up kids, you'll get your phone eventually, suck it up.

You hit the nail right on the head, Slim. You don't have to ask why, thru thumbed him down; it's hatred, because when you're at the top, that's what happens. Just a year ago, it wasn't like this. It wasn't blind hatred towards Samsung. Now, it's ridiculous. Every Samsung article there's hatred. For what? Grow up, people. Just because your favorite OEM isn't at the top doesn't mean you have to hate the one that is.

There is an old saying "No one kicks a dead dog". It's from at least the 1920's or so. You can't say it now, because it sounds bad and it's not politically correct. It means, that people will criticize you more (i.e. "kick" you) if you're successful. They won't kick you if you're unsuccessful or dead.

Well the problem was that everyone hated Apple because Apple was the topdog and there werent really any Androids that could stay relavant for more than 3 mopnths because they always fell apart. Once Samsung became the top dog everyone started hating on them because it pretty much was made of poly plastic and people were just pissed that it was LG or HTC that wasnt popular. All these lil gangs of Samsung fans, LG fans, HTC fans, and Sony fans ganged up on Apple and once one of those companies is on top they forget that everyone just wanted to see the downfall of Apple. People are going to argue until the end of time about what manufacturer or device is best. Me, i just go for what i like and I have no obsessed commitment to any one manufacturer, except ill never support apple as long as they remain 2 years behind in their technology. I have a GS3 and i love it and wouldnt trade it right now for the world. But these new devices coming out this year may change my mind. The gs4 didnt impress me, the htc one annoyed me, and i have yet to see a single good lg device in the us in years in my opinion although LG is a great brand altogether. I dont really consider sony good with phones or maybe its just because only one or maybe even two carriers in the US will carry their products at any one time, ive never even handled that one water proof sony. The last sony i held and played with with was the xperia play and that was a joke of a phone. Sony is great at making game systems though :) I dont consider motorola because whether google owns them or not there just a bunch of inbred morons who refuse to do anything truly awesome with their software AND their hardware besides stupid kevlar and the same boring design over and over again. I am truly rooting for LG, HTC, and Samsung to amaze me this year but this year is almost half way done. hmm maybe 2014 they will make somethin g that is 3 times better than the GS3 to make me switch....ya know, 3 gb ram, 5.3inch with minimal bezel 1080p HD screen with 474 ppi, 2ghz quadcore, 13 mp camera, 2.5 mp front facing, eye tracking, hover touch, ir blast, front facing speakers, built in stylus, ultimate photoshop editing capabilities, and make it durable yet stylish so perhaps a metal frame but still allow me to put a micro sd card in it. Basically combine the GS4, Note 2, HTC one, Nokia 928, and the Sony xperie waterproof thingy phone into one super phone and ill buy it even if i have to spend $1,200 for it :)

Verizon did not say that the S4 was shipping 5/30 originally. It said that it would ship BY 5/30.

That's exactly correct theman, people are so damn impatient. Hell I had no problem waiting for VZW to ship this phone. It's the price you pay for being on the best network baby :)

I actually got to play with the S4 at an AT&T store yesterday and I could care less about the people complaining about 'cheap plastic', because that is a nice ass device! If I had the money, I would've bought it right then and there.

You COULD care less? So why don't you?

I just checked my status on the VZW website and the screen for me has changed from the "pre-order" screen which just said that the estimated shipping date was 05/23/2013 and my pre-order confirmation number to a quadrant that now has an actual order number and a space for a tracking number....but I do not have a tracking number yet. I also haven't received an email saying my phone has shipped either, so I am anxiously awaiting that email! But I assume that with the change from a pre-order confirmation number to an actual order number, is a good thing and I might get a shipment even sooner! I also just checked my credit card website and there hasn't been a charge I will continue to wait....and refresh....and wait....and refresh!

Mine was shipped from Coatesville and will be delivered tomorrow (Tuesday 5/21). All my friends who laughed at me for pre-ordering aren't laughing now. They all insisted they'd have theres first by waiting in line on launch day, and that won't be the case :-)
