Verizon rolling out Android Oreo official update for the Moto Z2 Force

1comment

Do you happen to be a Moto Z2 Force owner that's on Verizon? If so, you'll be happy to know that the official build of Android 8.0 Oreo will soon land on your phone.

Even though Big Red is yet to update its "Device Software Update" page with the latest changes, a screenshot from the XDA Developers forums seems to prove that the rollout is indeed happening. The latest version should bump the build on your phone to ODX27.109-34.

The changelog highlights the addition of notification dots (or badges), smart text selection, a new call screen, redesigned emojis, and smoother performance for apps and games. The picture-in-picture mode and other Oreo improvements should also be on board, even though we don't see them mentioned in the changelog.

The update is available OTA, but it might need some time to reach all compatible devices. This is going to be a big patch, so make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding.
