User Agent profile confirms QHD screen for Samsung Galaxy S6 Active
Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S5 was surprisingly launched with IP67 protection from dust and water. This seemed to make the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active redundant. After all, the "Active" series of the Samsung Galaxy S line was produced for those who want the flagship model, but with protection from water or dust.

When the Samsung Galaxy S6 was launched this year without protection from dust and water, it meant that a Samsung Galaxy S6 Active model would once again be in demand by those worried about losing their pride and joy to a spill or a rainstorm. We recently showed you leaked photos of what is alleged to be the Galaxy S6 Active, which traditionally has been available in the U.S. via AT&T.

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active has yet to be announced, a User Agent profile confirms the model number of the phone (SM-G890A) and the fact that it will have a 1440 x 2560 resolution display. Other rumored specs include a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display. That works out to a pixel density of 577ppi. Under the hood we should find the Exynos 7420 SoC with an octa-core 2.1 GHz CPU and a Mali-T760 MP8 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with a larger 3500mAh removable battery. The rear and front-facing cameras weigh in at 16MP and 5MP, respectively. And with an IP67 rating, the Galaxy S6 Active can be submerged into as much as 3.28 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes, and emerge unscathed.

We could see Samsung make the Galaxy S6 Active official some time this month.

Thanks for the tip!
