On Friday and Saturday only, big box retailer Best Buy has a special deal for those looking to trade up to a newer version of the Apple iPad. Bring in your working Apple iPad 2 or 3rd generation Apple iPad and the retailer will give you a minimum $200 gift card which can be immediately applied toward the purchase of any online or in-store purchase.
Best Buy sells a 16GB variant of the fourth-generation Apple iPad with Retina display and Wi-Fi for $499.99. With the gift card, that cuts the price to $299.99. Actually, your trade-in could be worth more than $200 depending on the age and condition of the iPad you are trading in. Only those Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile outlets that accept trade-ins will be offering this deal.
Last month, Best Buy experienced its single best day for trades when it ran a promotion allowing those with a working Apple iPhone 4 or Apple iPhone 4S to swap the older model for a brand new Apple iPhone 5. The success of that trade-in led Best Buy to turn to the iPad for another promotion.
