(Update: possibly fake) Sony's next flagship could feature 4K HDR OLED screen, potent dual camera, Snapdragon 845

UPDATE: After further inspection, we've established that the screenshots below are possibly falsified. The information extracted from them most likely isn't accurate.

A few hours ago, we reported on a leaked list that allegedly revealed all of the major 2018 Android smartphones that will sport the Snapdragon 845 chipset. One of the high-end handsets mentioned in the list was an intriguing Sony "Xperia XZ Pro-A" model that will supposedly break cover in June.

The naming of the device certainly suggests that this could be Sony's 2018 flagship, and now, thanks to a new leak, we have a spec sheet that could potentially support this claim. The screenshots (you can see them in the gallery below) first appeared in the comment section of a Xperia Blog article.

Needless to say, this information is speculative and could be far from the truth. The screenshots are a bit hard to read, so we've summarized all the important bits in the table below.

These specs look too good to be true, don't they? If we assume that this information is correct, we are looking at one of the most beastly smartphones of next year.

The leaked list that we mentioned at the beginning of the article states that the XZ Pro will get announced in June of 2018, but we're hopeful that Sony won't stray off its usual course of action and unveil the phone at MWC at the end of February.

Thanks, mimicryXD!

If it has all of the above I will seriously be considering this as my next phone.

This would be a wicked VR smartphone. Plus if it's OLED, then it would be Daydream compatible. A 4k Daydream VR device would be awesome.

I think if the screen is 120hz like Razer phone then it would be a good VR phone. If not tho. I think the screen lag will be too much. If it is 120hz I will get it for sure!

I do not think it is real. It says sRGB 138%, leaked info of the H82xx tells it comes with sRGB 148%. Second cam is not telephoto. Setup may be like Huawei's. JDI wont be able to give the oled this year probably. They would not buy from Sammy because of pentile matrix. New stabilization system was registred as DVS. No way they use Optical Steady Shot on a phone. How screen can be 5.7 in, if the whole body is 5.7 in? Cant deny that this phone would be a dream. Buy is too good to be real.

It says OLED, but You don;t know if Samsung's AMOLED or LG's POLED. Both are possible. But with rest You are right. As for size, maybe it will be first phone with totally no bezels? Camera below screen, same with proximity? Sony could be behind the others with bezels, but it doesn't mean that they don;t have something in their sleeves.

It's the diagonal of the screen which is 5.7 inch. The length of screen is less than 5.7 inch. Meanwhile, it's the length of the phone which is 5.7 inch. Now you understand?

Sony finally seems to be taking mobile photography seriously .... - Dual camera - bigger sensors size - f/1.7 wide aperture - stacked sensor ( same as Sony A9 ) - anti distorted global shutter - improved low light performance - g lens ( the same team that make lenses for e-mount and A-mount cameras ) - BIONZ processor .... I'm buying the next Xperia flagship since I'm an amateur photographer.

Imx400 is stacked sensor. Old Z1 has G Lens. Bionz Processor is on Z1 Anti Distortion Shutter ( for moving objects) came with imx400. Low light issue is high ISO on auto mode. GSMArena says when SS is slower than 1/4s and ISO less than 100 the shots of XZP are miles better than s8.

sounds good, I hope this will be true, also Sony should improve their software, should add new features in their phones like Samsung for example

No 4k please!!!! It only drains the battery and doesn't make any visible difference at all!

Why I dont believe .. 1) android 8.0 instead of 8.1 2) optical steady shot 3) All phones show up on Sony's website only after they announce at events 4) telephoto 2nd cam 5) iris scanner 6) sRGB 138%, h82xx was leaked with 148% 7) Body and screen both 5.7"

I agree that this is unlikely to be real, but the screen and body both being 5.7 inches isn't outside the realm of possibility (though definitely new for Sony). The S8 and Note 8 are incredibly close in regards to screen size and overall height, and the Mi Mix 2 and Essential Phone have a smaller overall height than screen size.

Phone would be 100% screen. Impossible because frame takes maybe 0.1mm. The camera needs to be beneath screen also the screen as speaker like Bravia A1E.

The screen is measured diagonally though, so travel horizontally is also included. The S8 is 5.86 inches tall with a 5.8 inch screen. The Essential Phone is 5.57 inches tall with a 5.7 inch screen. The Mix Mix 2 is 5.98 inches tall with a 6 inch screen. It's unlikely, I admit, especially for a Sony phone, but it is technically possible.

Screen is measured diagonally. The length and width of the phone is 5.7 and 2.9 inch.

telephoto lenz with that information couldn't be true that aperture of telephoto lenz can't trure then 4k oled is not true because joled coudn't mass production oled for mobile until second half of 2019 and lg couldn't supply that panel until now and samsung display never give sony 4k oled panel because of samsung mobile and samsung electronics

Knowing sony this is as fake as a 3 dollar bill, I haven't seen sony put 64gb on a flagship yet, Sony is stuck on more MP = better quality We have heard no rumours of Sony making oled smartphone displays, when iphone was rumored it was backed up by apple buying from Samsung and Samsung ramping up production. Yes sony has a 4k hdr bravia oled display but for them to put it on a 5.7 display on a smart phone. I could see 90hz+ refresh rate tho

X Performance dual sim = 64GB X dual = 64 gb XZ dual = 64gb XZs dual = 64gb XZ Premium = 64gb ( single/dual) XZ1 = 64gb ( single / dual) XZP has 120Hz @1080p , 60Hz@4K .. Developer mode lets you enable.

19. DurTeeDee (Posts: 103; Member since: 05 Sep 2014) "Yes sony has a 4k hdr bravia oled display but for them to put it on a 5.7 display on a smart phone." The OLED panel on the bravia is an LG, just like the ones on LG's own TV's, same with Panasonic and Phillips as well. LG is the only maker of OLED TV panels.
