U.S. Cellular rolls out Android 9.0 Pie update to the Moto G6 Play
Gone are the days when you would buy an entry-level smartphone and didn't expect it to receive any major Android OS updates. Now, just about every affordable smartphone released by a major company (i.e. Samsung, Motorola) is getting at least one Android OS update during their lifetime.

The Moto G6 Play, the cheapest smartphone launched by Motorola last year, is no exception and U.S. Cellular is the most recent carrier in the States that is releasing Android 9.0 Pie for Moto G6 Play.

Although it's been one year since the Moto G6 Play was released on the market, it's great to see a phone that you can now buy with less than $100 getting the latest version of Android. If you own U.S. Cellular's Moto G6 Play, you should be looking for a new software version with build number PPP29.118-9.

Also, since this is a fairly sizeable update, make sure that you have enough free storage and that your battery is at least 50% charged before attempting to download and install Android 9.0 Pie.
