U.K. commercial for Cortana says the personal assistant will wear "a phone" at the Brit Awards
Grammy Award winning band Clean Bandit is featured in a new ad for Windows Phone voice-activated virtual personal assistant Cortana. In the spot, which is running on U.K. television, Cortana says that she is attending the 2015 Brit Awards with the group. Showing off her capabilities, Cortana is asked by Clean Bandit member Grace to remind her to tell Neil when he calls, not to dress like it's 1996. These reminders are just one of the many things that Cortana can do for Windows Phone users.
When one of the band members asks Cortana what she is wearing to the Brit Awards, she responds by saying, "A phone. Like it?" And the band members get a chuckle and a guffaw out of Cortana's response. As you know, Microsoft has built a personality for its personal assistant similar to what Apple has done with Siri.
We know that Microsoft has built in some predictive algorithms for Cortana that allowed the personal assistant to make accurate forecasts for the World Cup and the Super Bowl. If you ask her nicely, Cortana should give you her predictions for tonight's Academy Awards presentation. Apparently, she likes to schmooze with the stars, but can she forecast who will win "Best Picture?"
