The rumoured specs of Sony Ericsson X12 (Anzu) are leaked
We have already told you that a tweet from Eldar Murtazin broke the news that Sony Ericsson is set to produce no less than 7 new devices in the first half of 2011. Without any doubt, the most interesting of these devices is the Sony Ericsson X12, also known as Anzu, which is expected to be the Japanese-Swedish joint venture's next flagship model. That's why we have the pleasure to present you with one important piece of information - the suspected specs of the Anzu model.

They read:

MSM7230 processor
8.1 MP AF with Exmor R (16x Digital Zoom, HD Video recording (720p/30fps) w stereo audio recording support, Pulsed LED, Face Recognition & Tracking in video recording)
Built-in 3.5mm (w/ adaptor)
Noise Suppression
4.2” FWVGA (854×480) Capacitive display (X.LED multi-touch display, Capacitive multi-touch, 16 Million display color)
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
HDMI (type D)
Size (125.0 x 62.5 x 8.7-10.9 mm)
Battery: 1500 mA
OS: Android Gingerbread.

The 4.2-inch screen looks impressive along with its 480x854 resolution, not to mention that it packs Qualcomm MSM7230 processor (the same one that powers the T-Mobile G2, although the processor speed of the Anzu is not known yet) and a 8.1MP camera with HD recording capabilities at 30fps. And if that doesn't sound too bad, the rumour says that it will run the much-anticipated Android Gingerbread.

We would like to reiterate that this is just a rumour from unconfirmed source, but seriously, these specs sound really good. Sadly, there is no word when this device can be expected, but the Anzu may prove to be what Sony Ericsson really needs – a flagship handset that's destined to be a winner among the high-end smartphones.

don't know where else to post this.. but little brother phone (X10) recieved 2.1 recently. Several glitches seem to plague my phone now and wonder if it is affecting others as well. 1: the "New 2.1" mediascape is only functional via 3rd party apps. eg. create a custom shortcut and select crop image using mediascape you will utilize the new media scape. however, using the mediascape directly from home screen or from apps launcher it is the old "original" mediascape. 2: sending mms. when someone replies to the mms, their message is NOT viewable. 3: the default browser is not functional via wifi, only through 3g antenna. Browsing, texting and mediascape are botched.... essentially that bricks my phone. any suggestions? (other than get another phone ;) )

X10 is just a good looking phone and that's it. Outdated android, no multi-touch, Sony UI sucked, super slow fixes and updates... Poor smartphone from such a respective top-notch electronic Japanese company...

Thanks, but didn't offer any assistance to my question. Thank you for reiterating the obvious. Out if all the companies of late, the only thing s.e. Has going for them is they seem to be the only ones not being sued or suing. Sometimes avoiding the limelight and keeping back a few paces does have its advantage. :-/

im glad they doing 480x854(*) instead of 480x800(**) because (*) has a 16:9 display unlike (**) ratio, but 4.2" is too big. i also heard that it has 12mp camera.

why did they skipped on the camera from 12MP. I was even expecting 16MP let alone the 12MP. Hope the trackID is integrated with the media player for auto tagging of unknow track.
