Taylor Swift and Glu Mobile partner for "unique" game, set for late 2016

Although Taylor Swift is everywhere these days (not that we mind...), she's yet to conquer our smartphones' displays with the firm grip she has on the music industry. Inevitably, and to the delight of millions of fans out there, that's about to change pretty soon! Game publisher Glu Mobile announced the development of a new game in partnership with the pop star. According to the blurb, this won't be a mere one-off cash grab, but a multi-year collaboration forged to create a "new, one of a kind digital gaming experience".

Given Taylor's popularity and talent, it's no surprise that Glu is thrilled with this development. "We realize that her global fan base expects a new and highly differentiated mobile gaming experience,” said CEO Nicolo de Masi, ensuring fans that the company is "committed to designing never before seen gameplay elements that utilize Taylor’s unique creativity." Glu does have the credibility and know-how to tackle this project, for it previously launched the very successful "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood". The Kim-spired game generated $43 million in its first three months and holds top ratings in the App Store and Google Play.

Sounds great so far, where do we sign up? Well, it will be a while before we get to play with the Glu-Swift creation, as all we know is that the title is scheduled for "late 2016". Ah, maybe it will make for an awesome Christmas gift for Swifties! Glu hasn't announced the platforms, but it's a pretty sure bet that the game will hit Android and iOS.
