T-Mobile subscribers with the Samsung Galaxy S5 start to receive the hefty update to Android 5.0

T-Mobile subscribers rockin' the Samsung Galaxy S5 are beginning to receive quite a load in the form of a 939.59MB OTA update to Android 5.0. At that size, your best bet is to make sure that you don't try to pick it up yourself or you just might get a hernia. If this update was a baby, the doctors would be scrambling to do a C-section.

If the notification hasn't yet reached your phone, you can always sync up to that big box on your desk (not the one containing your Playboy collection) and hook up to Samsung Kies to pull out the update using the old-fashioned NOTA method (Not Over The Air). As the U.S. carrier versions of the LG G3, Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8) start to receive Android 5.0, it appears that Android 5.1 could soon be pushed out to Nexus devices.

Android 5.0 carries with it the Material Design look, new lock screen notifications, the new Recent Apps menu, improved battery life via Project Volta, the ART compiler and more. With an update of this size, your best bet is to download and install it while on a Wi-Fi network. And make sure that your battery is at least 50% charged before starting the updating process.
