Sprint preferred stores are asked to open early while a hotspot hoophole emerges

As launch day inevitably nears, Sprint is asking its “preferred retailers” to open up their doors earlier than their normal business hours to accommodate the surge of people that will naturally gravitate to stores whenever a big phone launches. With the possibility of some places opening at 8:00 AM on launch day, it would probably be ideal to call up or visit your local store the night before the HTC EVO 4G launches to find out exactly what time they plan on opening – so you can adjust your plans accordingly. In addition, it looks like there is a loophole that is going to allow owners in 4G markets to use the HTC EVO 4G's Mobile Hotspot feature for free, but Sprint is planning on correcting the issue some time in July where the $29.99 per month add-on will require activation. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get this for free if you're not in a 4G enabled market. Sure lining up to get yourself a handset like the EVO 4G may be tough when you're getting up at the crack of dawn, but we'd suggest checking out indirect retailers like Best Buy or RadioShack to grab yourself a pre-order. If you're more situated with the line queuing process, then expect the usual routine come launch day at most places selling the handset.
