Spotlight: Glimmer is among Android's most beautiful alarm apps

There are two things we can think of that could make waking up in the morning feel pretty — a beautiful partner, and a gorgeous alarm app like Glimmer. This one's among the finest-looking wakie-wakie apps on Android, and you'll see why when you install it. Beautiful backdrops, big icons, warm pastel colors - and that's just the menus. Wait until you see it in action!

Glimmer turns on your device's screen 30 minutes before the alarm's supposed to go off, slowly increasing the brightness and illuminating your room softly, like an Android-powered electric sun. The sounds of birds chirping are optional, though they could help with the cause of waking you up for sure! Should they fail to do so, however, you can still get Glimmer to play a strong sound full blast a minute after your "can't reach the phone to stop the alarm because sleep" time allowance is up!

A good waking up is the outcome of a good night's sleep, hence the app can switch your phone to "night mode", muting sounds and killing wireless connectivity so you won't be disturbed by calls and notifications. Naturally, Glimmer will bring the phone back in "daytime" operation as the morning sun rises up in the sky.

In a bout of generosity, Glimmer's developer offers all of its features for free, but it takes a modest $1 in-app purchase to unlock all the customizations featured in it. It's a beautiful alarm app, enjoy it!

Beautiful!

I still prefer AlarmPad Pro hands down. Offers a lot of similar functionality, but the integration with Tasker does the trick for me. First alarm turns on the bedroom lights slowly, second one turns on my coffee. Can't beat that.
