This one's among the finest-looking wakie-wakie apps on Android, and you'll see why when you install it. Beautiful backdrops, big icons, warm pastel colors - and that's just the menus. Glimmer turns on your device's screen 30 minutes before the alarm's supposed to go off, slowly increasing the brightness and illuminating your room softly, like an Android-powered electric sun. The sounds of birds chirping are optional, though they could help with the cause of waking you up for sure! Should they fail to do so, however, you can still get Glimmer to play a strong sound full blast a minute after your "can't reach the phone to stop the alarm because
sleep" time allowance is up!
