Specs leak for Xiaomi Mi 5: November release, Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM
For those of you who have been wondering where Xiaomi's next flagship handset fits in with all of the new high-end phones being manufactured in China, fear not. A report published this morning reveals what are allegedly the specs for the Xiaomi Mi 5. Fans of the company will be happy to hear that if this leak is legit, Xiaomi will not have disappointed at all with the sequel to the Xiaomi Mi 4.

The Xiaomi Mi 5, codenamed Libra, is said to sport a 5.3-inch display with a 1440 x 2560 resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 554ppi. Under the hood will be the Snapdragon 820 SoC and 4GB of RAM will be inside. 16GB/64GB of internal (expandable) memory should be available, and the rear camera is expected to weigh in at 16MP. A 6MP snapper will adorn the front of the unit. Keeping the lights on will be the job of a 3030mAh battery inside, and Android 5.1.1 is said to be pre-installed. A fingerprint scanner is rumored to be included with the Mi 5.

According to the report, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will be released in November, which happens to dovetail with a report from May that also called for the Mi 5 to arrive in November sporting the Snapdragon 820 SoC, and featuring a fingerprint scanner. If you're wondering what is holding up the phone, Xiaomi is waiting to make sure that there will be no issues obtaining the Snapdragon 820 chipset in the volume it needs.

Pricing, availability and other details are unknown for the moment.

Thanks for the tip!
