Sony Xperia Z3+ can be pre-ordered SIM free from Clove for $845 USD
U.K. retailer Clove is now taking pre-orders for the just announced Sony Xperia Z3+, SIM free. According to Clove, the phone will first ship at the end of next month and the retailer is taking reservations for the device in Black, Copper or White. While Sony did not announce pricing this morning when it unveiled the phone, Clove is asking for the equivalent of $845 USD to pre-order the model. That price includes the VAT.

The Sony Xperia Z3+ will feature a 5.2-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, which contains an octa-core 2.7GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. A 20.7MP camera adorns the back while a 5MP selfie snapper graces the front of the phone. In order to make the handset thinner, the battery capacity has been reduced to 2930mAh, and there is 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. Android 5.0 is pre-installed.

The Sony Xperia Z3+ is IP65/68 certified for dust and waterproofing which means that it can be submerged in over 9 feet of water and still emerge unscathed. If you're interested in pre-ordering an unlocked Xperia Z3+ from Clove, click on the sourcelink.

Try this number - its £549. S6 is priced at £528.00, so its not so overpriced as phonearena trying to say with their another crappy title.

What's more hilarious is that PA even didn't bother to mention the original price in British pound which is 549 including VAT - that's actually less than the pre-order price of S6 (575 pound) . Now if any one from the US orders it from this British site, the price is 474.50 pound with shipping as he doesn't have to pay UK VAT. That equals $730. Alan F, you should fix the title and mention the price is British pound also and don't make yourself look like a clown in the future.

If you bothered to read the article, you would have seen that the USD equivalent price stated that it included VAT. The idea behind us using USD prices is merely for US readers to compare the price. Perhaps you should realize that there are editorial considerations for some of the things we write. I'd suggest you read the artice next time before making a comment. Alan F.

Sorry, it still doesnt make any sense at all to "include VAT" in here, especially when you say for USA readers. Any USA residents who orders from "do not" have to pay VAT, so why include the VAT cost in here? Not unless you are trying to drive consumers away from Sony. Other than that i see no reasons at all to include the VAT price.

I think I did a better comparison for US readers. US readers care about the US price (which is not available and will be much less than $845) - not the launch price in the Moon. The price for US readers is actually $730. I suggest you read the comment properly before making a reply.

Sony mobile is slowly going the way of the blackberry. Too little innovation and an unjustifiable price. Shame, they used to be my favorites during the windows mobile era

Blackberry didn't die out because of lack of innovation, but because of lack of understanding that the iPhone changed for ever the perception of an interface. The iPhone just looked so futuristic back in 2007 that by comparison everything else looked suddenly ancient. By the time Blackberry realised this, the game had moved too far for them to follow. I don't think that Sony suffers the same extreme situation. The Z3+ is a bit unremarkable because of its predictability, but still perfectly competitive. Of course being unremarkable is no winning card, but for the customer the Z3+ should be one fine smartphone. And unjustified price? I suspect that Sony will be asking quite a bit less than Samsung for an S6. These pre-order prices are often inflated. E.g. the Huawei Watch is up at German Amazon for pre-order for €1000. Let's see.

that's a pretty obscene price. holy hell. i'd never spend more than $400 for a phone that's going to get replaced every few years.

Tho I'm not really into this phone, American users should keep in mind that this is the average price of a flagship phone in the UK, before judging. The price excludes the iPhones, which usually cost over $1k.

I really like sony and their phones but this is just ridiculous. It's thinner has a 5mp front cam and a s810? The z3 was 650 new and this should've been around the 600€. It's good looking And i would probably take it over the s6 if i was in the market for a 5 incher. But the s6 is just better value altoughd that one is also 2 expensive but thats just because it doesn't have an sd slot.

so whats your point? the S6 brought something new over the S5, better materials, better specs, better ram, better camera with OIS, better screen etc. yet your telling us the Z3+ which is the recycled version with smaller battery over the Z2 and Z3, should get a premium price? yeah right LOL Theres a reason why the S6 has a high premium price, but the Z3+? really what are you smoking repeating yourself like a parrot?

It's true that S6 is a bigger improvement. But to think about it, Samsung had more things to improve after the S5. Sony already has the material. They have the beautiful design. They have the latest available CPU and GPU. Battery is smaller, yes, but iy should still last the same as Z3, which lasted longer than Z2 even tho it also had a decrease in battery size. I agree that although the camera on Z series is very good, it really needs OIS and also, a new sensor wouldnt hurt after over a year of the same. But saying the Z3+ doesn't deserve the high price tag? Why not? It has beautiful, high quality design, super fast and fluid software with the beautiful Music and Album apps from Sony, very good cameras, top batterylife, waterproofing, stereo speakers, noise cancellation, top specs and high quality screen. Also, after using the Galaxy s4 for a while now, I really miss the on screen buttons. Its horrible that I don't have any space to grab onto at the bottom. Also, IMO the more square design fits in the hand a LOT better. Round design of S4 is so slippery. That of course deoends on hands and also, S4 is an older model of course lol.

Z3 lasted longer than Z2? where did you get your info from? because in GSMarena it clearly shows the Z2 last longer by 4 hours total? now how will that justify the Z3 with an even smaller battery than both of them? anyways... the Z3+ is a recycled version of the Z2 and Z3, theres basically no R&D involved, no signs of moving forward technology, it shows Sony is lazy and yet asking for premium price for putting no effort in a flagship phone and all the functionality you can get from the Z3+ is found on the Z2 and Z3? thats not the case for the S4/s5 to the S6. In all reviews that i've seen, the S4 was always mentioned to be comfortable to hold in the hands, and I never seen an article stating that any of the xperia z series were comfortable to hold, the big square blocky design was always the issue, as well as sharp edges.

You never seen any article about that before? You only from phone&gsmarena do you? Tech radar disagrees (i used z3 compact because you only say big square blocky design is the issue and z3 and z3 compact have the same design)

the Z3 compact has a smaller foot print, dude your just embarrassing yourself for using a completely different phone.

You complained about the design not how big it is. Z3 and z3c basically has the same design. Fool!
