The Sony Xperia S is one of the hottest Android devices, but for some the fact that it originally runs on Android 2.3
Gingerbread was a dealbreaker. Now, this is fixed - today, Sony is updating its Android flagship to Android Ice Cream Sandwich.
The exact number of the ICS version is 4.0.4 and it comes with resizable widgets and better lock screen.
The update weighs around 200MB so you’d better make sure you’re connected to a solid Wi-Fi network before starting it. You can update directly from the phone, but if you choose to you could also use Sony’s Xperia Update web platform, or hook up your phone to your Mac and PC and use Sony’s companion app.
Availabilty of the update will vary across carriers, and users will be notified with a message, but we guess you could keep on refreshing the settings menu to see if it’s already there. The rollout will be phased and will continue over the next couple of weeks.
