Sharp announces pair of 3-D Android phones
As far back as last April, we reported that Sharp was working on a technology that would produce 3-D images on a handset without the use of special glasses. As the year progressed, the manufacturer said that it would have such a phone ready by the end of the year and now it seems that they have delivered on this.
Sharp today introduced two Android models that offer glasses-free 3-D. Both models are powered by Android 2.2 and are equipped with 3.8 inch screens with resolution of 800x 480. The pair, the Sharp Galapagos 003SH and the Sharp Galapagos 005SH, both have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor under the hood. The latter offers a QWERTY keyboard and an 8MP camera while the former lacks the QWERTY but features a 9.6MP camera. Both phones are capable of 720p HD video capture. Video game maker Capcom will be bundling some 3-D games with the phones such as Mega Man, Resident Evil and Ghosts 'n Goblins.

The 003SH will be launched in Japan sometime next month with the 005SH expected to be available in February. Sharp has not made any comment on whether or not these handsets will make it to the States and the rest of the globe.
