Samsung will live stream its Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge event
Samsung is almost ready to announce two new flagship smartphones which will most probably be called Galaxy S6 and Galax S6 Edge (though the latter may actually be called Galaxy S Dual Edge). Both new handsets will be officially unveiled this Sunday, March 1, at MWC 2015. Unsurprisingly, Samsung today confirmed that the event will be live streamed on YouTube.

Dubbed Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2015, the event will start at 6:30 PM CET (Central European Time), or 12:30 PM EST (Eastern Standard Time - US). While Samsung struggled to keep everything secret, it seems that images of both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge have been leaked - see here and here. Apparently, the new handsets sport 5.1-inch Quad HD displays (a regular screen on the S6, and a curved one on the S6 Edge). All major US carriers will likely launch the two Samsung smartphones in the near future.

As a reminder, HTC will also live stream its March 1 event, starting half an hour earlier than Samsung. All in all, this Sunday will be a very interesting day! Which upcoming smartphone are you looking forward to seeing the most?

its 2600. I can't believe I have to say this every single year when Samsung announces a product : technology is not only quantitative. Its qualitative as well. Meaning there will be other factors affecting the phone's battery life.

Of course. As we saw Note 3 -> Note 4. Efficient SOC, efficient display, efficient Kernel power management, etc. are all part of the equation. Heck, even the quality of battery cells matter. Not all 2600 mah batteries are created equal. We will have to see how it performs in actual test to make any kind of judgment on battery.

I will be watching, I'm at work at that time, but I'm a security guard, so I can watch it, only 30m's left in my shift at that point though.

this GS6 is really like iphone 6 ..specially like bottom of phone and side of phone... specially last of 2 photo shows that it looks like iphone 6.... and also i cant believe that Samsung removed Micro SD card slots , cannot remove battery , and battery only come with 2600..... I believe Samsung getting down crazy with this new GS6....

It looks nothing like the iPhone. Bottom speaker grills are found in lots of phones. USB charging ports are there for every single phone. That leaves 3.5mm audio jack as a differentiator. And it has only two places to go: top or bottom. But I agree that it sucks to lose micro SD slots.

If you're going to call it a major overhaul.. Please make the front of the device look different as well. Freaking looks like every other galaxy phone they've ever made.

Considering all those contradictory comments surrounding this leak such as: 1. It's an iPhone 6 copy 2. It's a same old sh*t from Samsung 3. Project zero? Is that it? 4. It's ugly. 5. It's an iPhone 4 copy. 6. The S4/S5 look better than this and I will keep my S4/S5. 7. etc. I even saw same persons saying different things that are directly contradictory. So now I feel like Samsung has gotten it right this time. How can all those above be true at the same time? (just look at the S6 Edge, uglier than the S5, really?)

I honestly think this is a nice looking phone so far.!? I notice there's alot of haters out there though. I won't be a bit surprised if the S6 performs really well in battery life tests and everything else, that the same people that was hating on this phone will be the same guys carrying this phone in a few months. Nothing is for certain yet on both the M9 and the S6 but people are already passing judgement like they've been sampling both devices for months now.! Just stfu and let it all unfold and have the reviewers test these phones before we start passing judgement and start misleading the gullible people out there.

Stop this hating stupidity. Have the haters invented anything in their life? At least Samsung doesn't rip off its loyal customers like you know who I'm name of innovation.

You haven't heard. It was my understanding that everyone had heard. Lol. People hate Samsung for anything they do. Even if it marginally displeased them. Samsung is the Apple of the android world. But where apple is their own competition and is basically stagnant with their technology advancements, Samsung from day 1 has brought their A game with displays, chipsets, memory, cameras, and improvements to android and they still get hated on. Cause lag blah blah lag lag blah laggery.

The only thing they have brought is bloatware, lockdowns, and 50 variations of a model and 100 different models. I’m still waiting for Android 5.0 on my flagship Note 4. BTW Is this the new iPhone, as the bezel looks exactly like an iPhone 6…

If it has no SD Card ( a possible advantage over Iphone) - And it has no removable Battery or at least a large capacity Battery( a possible advantage over iphone. No Stereo Speakers with louder, fuller Audio ( a possible advantage over Iphone). A protruding Camera Design like Iphone makes phone rest on Camera flat on a table etc. Samsung will hopefully have a super Camera and some other great Tech on here. I think they are forgetting that Android Power users and most Flagship Android buyers want Power and Function first THEN style is down the List. Metal removable backplate with screws, SD Card, Removable Batteries in 2 different sizes.....with flush Camera on the thicker backplate would have been much better IMO.
