Samsung prepping a 12-inch Windows 10 tablet?
Remember that recent graph that claimed to show the Geekbench 3 scores of several next-generation chipsets? The same source has posted on his Weibo account, information related to a new 12-inch tablet allegedly being worked on by Samsung. The kicker here is that the large screened slate would not be powered by Android. Instead, the tablet would run on Windows 10 and would presumably be a competitor to the Surface Pro 4 expected to be unveiled this fall by Microsoft.

The slate would carry a 12-inch screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 or 3840×2400. A 14nm Intel Core M chip would be under the hood with 4GB of RAM inside. The tablet would come with an S Pen, so you might see the device offer some of the same capabilities found on the Samsung Galaxy Note5.

The rumored 12-inch Windows 10 tablet would be thin at 6.2mm, and will supposedly weigh 600 grams. There is no word on when we might expect this tablet to see the light of day, if it ever does.

Thanks for the tip!

If they can post articles about an iPad, then why not Windows tablets, too?

Don't be mad that the power of windows eclipses that of ios and android on bigger pc forms like tablets. If they can post about tablets of other OS you can very well post on windows tablets.

Hopefully They Use The Most Powerful Core M

There's actually not much difference between the Core Ms (similar to the small difference between the ultrabook i3s, i5s and i7s) The main issue is keeping temps under control Here's an article on how a 5Y10 (weakest) can beat 5Y71 (most powerful)http://www.anandtech.com/show/9117/analyzing-intel-core-m-performance

Well I Know The 5Y71 Is Stronger Than The Intel Core i3-4020Y Used In The Surface Pro 3. And That's Interesting LOL.

That should be expected Broadwell Core M replaced Haswell Y Serieshttps://techreport.com/news/27015/intel-reveals-core-m-specs-performance The 5Y71 is the successor to the i7-4610Y

I don't think the core m will be more powerful than the i7 4650u in the surface pro 3(it boosts up to 3.3 GHz and will stay there if you keep the surface pro 3 cooled with a usb fan or some other fan). The core M will more likely just have much better battery life.

Of Course Not The i7 Is King. But Anything With An i7 Always Cost In The Thousands. I'm Looking Foward To This Tablet Cause It Will Be Powerful And Affordable (Compared To An i7/i5 Device Anyway)

Nah, I can see this one being really pricey, Surface Pro 3 forever and after baby, even with N-Trig pen. Unless that S-Pen isn't a tiny chopstick which is just laughable like the one on Note 12.2 and is a normal sized thing.

Can be surface 3 alternative, not surface pro 3 alternative for sure. If this one costs similar to surface 3 then I might consider this one.

The Core M Is About As Powerful As The i3 surface Pro 3 And Probably Cheaper To. So Yes It Can Be An Alternative To The SP3.

Acually The Highest Clocked Core M Is More Powerful That The i3 Used In The SP3.

Yes I know core M is as powerful as core i3 but not as powerful as i5 or i7. But I really like core m's power efficiency. Given my needs (taking notes, recording lectures, writing in to pdfs) core m should be sufficient. Also the core i3 you are comparing is 1 generation back to broadwell and core m costs same as i3 not cheaper.

This tablet won't be a competitor to surface i don't know much about core M but isn't it weaker than I5/i7? And there's also Lenovo and Asus who make really capable Windows tablets.

Asus transformer is good for 10 hours and that is using 22 mm baytrail I am sure Samsung can manage with real 14nm core m

They junked the dual booting Ativ Q for Microsoft. I would love a refresh on that brought up to Surface Pro 3 levels. First company to make a Surface 3 sized tablet with an i5 level processor gets my money. Definitely going to be either Microsoft or Samsung. Lenovo and the rest don't have the budget to pull it off.
