Samsung Gear S3 frontier update adds vibration notification support for 3rd party apps

Samsung Gear S3 frontier is getting another small but important update today. Shortly after announcing the upcoming availability of its new Gear Sport smartwatch, Samsung provided Gear S3 frontier with an update that will make them think twice before switching to another wearable device.

The update that weighs in at 7MB brings incoming message vibration notification support for 3rd party apps. Basically, this means that Samsung Gear S3 frontier owners will receive vibration notifications when using apps like Messenger and WhatsApp.

No other changes have been included in the update, or at least they're not worthy enough to be mentioned by Samsung in the official changelog.

Currently, the update is being pushed to Gear S3 frontier smartwatches in the United States, but we're confident that Samsung will expand its availability to additional territories in the coming days.
