The Galaxy S10 series set new pre-order records in the US & UK for Samsung

The Galaxy S10 series set new pre-order records in the US & UK for Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy S10+

The Samsung Galaxy S10 series apparently experienced a pretty sluggish start in South Korea. Globally, though, demand for the devices has proven to be quite high. So high, in fact, that the Galaxy S10 series has set new pre-order records for the US (via GSMArena) and the UK.

In both markets, the Galaxy S10+ proved to be the most popular model of all with a sales share of 57%. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10e, on the other hand, accounted for the remaining 43%. However, it’s unclear which of these two proved to be the most popular.

As for colors, UK consumers largely favored the new Prism Black option – it accounted for a whopping 47% of pre-orders. The color preference of US consumers wasn’t specified but lack of stock suggests that Prism White was the general favorite.

Unfortunately, no specific pre-order numbers were provided. But the records do suggest the Galaxy S10 series could be just what Samsung needs to maintain its number one position throughout the rest of the year.

The news also bodes well for the recently-revised shipment estimates by Ming-Chi Kuo. For those of you that may be unaware, the popular analyst recently increased his Galaxy S10 sales predictions to between 40 and 45 million units as a result of popular demand.

so apparently from some people in know in sk, people are genuinely waiting for the 5g model and either doing the trading system (some carriers let you use the 4g model until the 5g model comes out and you swap them) or just waiting it out. its understandable when sk has gigabit speed internet and find 4g slow as hell.

This phone is crazy nice. Didn't know that a phone could be better than the Note 9 but Samsung pulled it off. The Note 10 is going to be bananas!

I'm not getting rid of my Max, mostly cause I won't be buying another iPhone with an Intel modem, and I need to see a lot more from Apple to keep me in the loop. My Max will handle my iOS needs, but the Note line is what I have to have.

Keep it. Why not have both? Mine doesn’t get as much usage, but I’m done buying them as long as they use intel modems. That’s the main reason I’m keeping this one. How’s the S10+?

It's sad that at that price you don't get a fast charger.

Good move! Apple will repeat history and fade away again like they did in the 90's. With the S10, Pixel 3 XL, and LG G8, all innovating you'd have to be a fool to buy an iPhone. My daily driver is a Pixel 3 XL and in no way would I go back to Apple. The Pixel is just too nice. It's an incredible device. Some dude on Offer up tried to trade me for an iPhone Max XS and I straight up told him "hell no!"

"With the S10, Pixel 3 XL, and LG G8, all innovating you'd have to be a fool to buy an iPhone" Last time i checked, those doesn't run iOS. "Apple will repeat history and fade away again like they did in the 90's" Not going to happen, with their growing userbase it's impossible.

Lot of immaturity in the comment section still. Maybe one of these days you will all grow up. Fighting over phone brands. Moronic.

What did you expect fighting over? Trump and Hillary?

Samsung beat their own record for their own previous phones. That's certainly cause for celebration considering how well (/s) their past flagships sold.

That's why getting concerned about south Korea sales was silly. Unless you're doing region tracking stats. Global sales is really the only thing that matters.

It was expected. Even Nigeria, Samsung shattered their preorder records. Although I was underwhelmed by the battery size of the S10, it still remains my favourite of the variants due to it's physical size.
