Samsung trademarked a new smartphone name in the United States about a week ago. The Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is likely to make its debut in the country very soon, though it might be released in other countries under a different name.

We haven't heard of the name until now, but we believe the Galaxy J7 Sky Pro is the US version of the Galaxy J7 (2017), the handset that made headlines in the last couple of weeks.

As some of you might already know the Galaxy J7 (2017) could be released in the US at Verizon, U.S. Cellular and AT&T, but other carriers might offer the smartphone as well.

Based on previous reports, the Galaxy J7 (2017) is a mid-range smartphone that will ship with Android 7.0 Nougat on board. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch display with either full HD (1080p) or HD (720p) resolution.

A 13-megapixel camera is likely to be featured on the back side, while in the front there should be either a 5- or 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone was spotted with either Exynos 7870 processor and 2GB RAM inside, or Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and 3GB RAM.

Perhaps Samsung plans to launch two variations of the same smartphone or the company simply tested multiple prototypes with different specs. We'll know more once Samsung makes it official.
