Verizon isn't looking to tire just yet when it comes to
Android updates as the Samsung Fascinate is the latest high-end device to be graced with some kind of update – but it's not what you think it is. The hasty update looks to correct some of the
known issues that Verizon knew about the handset, but it doesn't necessarily address every single one. So it would be a safe assumption to say at this point that there might be additional minor updates for this Android powered handset.
Although some would hope for this update to bring Froyo, instead it features improved syncing between phone & email accounts, faster switching from 3G to 1xRTT, the ability to search the phone while on a call, instant notification of Visual Voice Mail in the messaging bar, improved Exchange password alerts, prompt notification when switching to airplane mode, and the no service audio alert has been removed. As for its availability, there is no official word from Big Red when it'll be rolled out, but reports hint to a strong likelihood for it to arrive this week.
