Rumors say Meizu MX6 to be announced in July – bigger than the Pro 6, more modest hardware
Meizu's MX series are back in the rumor mill's crosshairs, with an alleged Meizu MX6 said to be primed for unveiling on the 19th of July. Now, if you've been following the China-based smartphone slinger, its smartphone lines may have gotten a bit confusing, and here's why:

Last year, Meizu had two top-tier handsets — the MX5, with a 5.5-inch display and a MediaTek Helio X10 SoC, was unveiled at the end of June, and the PRO 5, with its 5.7-inch screen and Samsung Exynos 7420 SoC, was released in November. However, this year, Meizu announced a Pro 6, with a much smaller display (5.2 inches) and a MediaTek Helio X25 SoC, much earlier than anticipated — in April. The more compact screen and unexpectedly premature refresh of the PRO line, naturally, poses the question – is there still room for the MX series in Meizu's lineup?

Well, according to the rumors, there is. The MX5 is about to get its annual refresh on schedule in the face of the MX6. The new handset is said to feature a 5.5-inch display, a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC, 32 GB / 64 GB storage variants with 3 GB / 4 GB of respective RAM, and a 20.7 MP / 8 MP camera combo.

In other words, the upcoming MX6 will allegedly have a bigger display than the announced Pro 6, but will come with slightly less powerful hardware. We'll see how much of this is true once July rolls about.
