Pebble Smartwatch back in stock at some Best Buy stores, not available online

Last month, the Pebble smartwatch sold out at Best Buy during one weekend. While the watch was said to be in stock online earlier on Thursday, the site now shows that the Kickstarter funded device is sold out for online orders. Finding a Best Buy store with the watch in stock is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Using the store checker on the site, we checked various retail locations in different states and found that the watch is available at the New York City store at 529 5th Ave. All other stores in the Big Apple are sold out. In South Florida and in San Francisco, the watch is unavailable. We did find a couple of Best Buy stores in Des Moines and West Des Moines Iowa that have the Pebble in stock.

While your best bet is to call the stores in your local area, or use the store checker on the website, we can tell you that the retailer is asking $149.99 for the Pebble smartwatch, which syncs with your Apple iPhone or Android handset using Bluetooth, to allow you to read your SMS messages, emails and incoming calls. Third party developers offer different faces for the watch, which can be easily downloaded on the watch allowing users to change the look of the watch to meet any occasion.

All of the major tech titans are developing, or are planning on developing, their own smartwatch with Samsung expected to unveil its model on September 6th at the same Samsung Unpacked event that will reveal the Samsung Galaxy Note III.
