Opera Mini for the iPhone was downloaded more than 2.6 million times in April
The iPhone is home to one of the best web browsing experience seen on any mobile handset, but recently it was tested by another that's making their presence through its support for a variety of platforms. Since getting the green lights and making its way to the App Store, users have downloaded the Opera Mini app for the iPhone more than 2.6 million times in April – which actually helped in making the iPhone supplant BlackBerry as the top handset for Opera Mini. Additionally, the staggering figure aided in boosting its user growth by 70 percent and has become the world's most widely used mobile phone web browser. According to Web analytics firm StatCounter, Opera has a commanding lead by controlling 26.7 percent of the market share in May. Following closely to them is the iPhone browser at 20.1 percent and the Nokia browser at 14.6 percent. Finally, Opera is continuing to lead as they reported that they have a total of 58.9 million users at the end on April which is up 6.6 percent from the previous month. One of the biggest attraction with Opera Mini is its speedy load times when using the handset in a non-3G covered area.
