OnePlus 3S could be real as unknown model gets CCC certification

Last week, we passed along information from analyst Pan Jiutang, who said that OnePlus was going to produce the OnePlus 3 Plus. Now, there is some evidence that suggests that there is a variant of the OnePlus 3 coming, called the OnePlus 3S. A mystery OnePlus phone with the model number A3010 has been certified by China's 3C. Most electronic devices imported into China or made in the country must have the China Compulsory Certificate mark. One of the reasons for the CCC to exist is to show consumers that a product has been tested to prove that it is safe.

Considering that the OnePlus 3 is the A3000, it makes sense that the A3010 would be a variant of the current handset. Co-founder Carl Pei noted in a blog post yesterday that there is a one month delay on shipping the One Plus 3 because of a shortage of AMOLED screens. Perhaps the A3010 is merely a version of the OnePlus 3 with an LCD panel.

But if there is a OnePlus 3S with a specs upgrade, it is expected to contain the Snapdragon 821 chipset. OnePlus is usually quick to confirm or deny speculation, so hopefully we will hear something definitive before too long.

If it's LCD, it better be a high quality IPS. Snapdragon 821 might be an incremental upgrade from the original oneplus 3...so I'm not that worried I own the original 3.

I'd rather have the LCD panel, over the AMOLED. I love the AMOLEDs in the Samsung devices, but Samsung always keeps the good ones for them, and sells the cast offs to other companies. They are good screens, but just not as good. Like mentioned above, I'd love to see a good IPS panel in the revised OP3.

Amen. A top shelf IPS display would be good, especially of they either drop the price a bit, or keep it the same and throw in an 821 as a "consolation"

If they price it at 399$ and bring their OP3 price to 349$ I would not mind waiting a month to get one.
