OnePlus 3 and 3T get new Notes app, weather widget, quick clipboard, and more in latest beta update

Despite not being the latest OnePlus models out on the market anymore, the OnePlus 3 and 3T continue to receive updates that fix issues and introduce new software features on a regular basis.

Today, new Open Beta patches have been made available for the two 2016 high-end models. The updates carry different names (OxygenOS Open Beta 29 for the OP 3 and 20 for the OP 3T), but the changes included are basically identical. Still, there's a lot of new stuff on board, so let's take a look at the entire patch log:

1. Notes (New OnePlus app)
  • Take notes quickly and simply
  • Share notes as picture
  • Memo widget on Shelf is editable
2. Quick clipboard
  • Enhanced copying and editing ability
3. Weather
  • New weather widget
4. File Manager
  • Added large files category
  • Speed improvements while deleting massive files
5. System
  • Added OTG toggle in Quick Settings
  • Added notification when 3rd party apps delete contacts
  • Updated Android security patch to December
  • General bug fixes and improvements

The update will arrive OTA (over the air) on any OnePlus 3 and 3T phones that have an Open Beta already installed. Otherwise, you'll have to flash it manually.

If you'd like to know how to flash your device, feel free to check out the official instructions provided by the manufacturer, the links to which can be found below.

Oneplus is doing awesome work. If everything goes like this, 3 and 3T will definitely get 8.1 and possibly even android 9.0(P) next year. Software updates and new features are the only things keeping me on this phone(apart from the fact that no good 2017 phone has 6GB RAM :( ).

They are, but hopefully they fix the issue I'm having since the 8.0 update. Crashes more often than any of the previous updates, and memory management has been less than stellar. Otherwise, update frequency for this phone have been better than any other OEM I've ever had phones for, which include Sony, Samsung, and LG

OnePlus` 5 and 5t smartphones are new devices, but, UNFORTUNATELY, both of them don't work on CDMA 800 MHz network on Perfectum in Uzbekistan, on Sprint and Verizon in the USA. And OnePlus 6 is about to release. OnePlus` 3 and 3t are still awesome smartphones, and both of them have CDMA 800 MHz. Hey, OnePlus!! Please, add CDMA 800 MHz on your new smartphone 6!!
