OnePlus 2 launches in India today at 4pm, invites required
If you are one of those lucky enough to have earned an invitation to buy the OnePlus 2 in India, keep in mind that the phone goes on sale starting at 4pm Indian time today. As OnePlus has promised, invites have gone out to those who have made a name for themselves by posting on OnePlus' community sites religiously. And, if you've won a contest, visited a OnePlus Pop-up store, or know someone with the phone, you could have an invitation burning a hole in your pocket right now!

Once all those people have had a shot at buying the device, the three million names registered for an invitation will start to be served. At first, only the model with 4GB of DDR4 RAM and 64GB of internal memory will be available. In India, the phone will be priced at the equivalent of $389 USD. Eventually, the model with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory will be offered, priced at the equivalent of $329 USD. The OnePlus 2 is an Amazon India exclusive in the country.

The OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch LCD screen carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution display. That works out to a pixel density of 401ppi. A Snapdragon 810 SoC is under the hood, with an octa-core 1.8GHz CPU and the Adreno 430 GPU. A 13MP camera with OIS is on back and a 5MP snapper is found on front. A 3300mAh battery keeps the generator humming, and Oxygen OS (based on Android 5.0) is pre-installed.

As we told you yesterday, those in the U.S. and Canada won't be receiving their OnePlus 2 until late this month at the earliest. While you can order the device today from the U.S. and Canada, "production schedules" are holding you back from receiving the phone for a few weeks. It's not a positive way for the OnePlus 2 to get started in North America.

Thanks for the tip!
