Nokia shows Ovi Store, updates Friend View

Nokia has recently demonstrated their new Ovi Store. The application based online shop allows you to browse content including applications, audio and video, games and personalizations. Each item in the category is listed with a price and rating and when selected gives you access to a short description, information on related downloads as well as the possibility to rate, write comments or actually buy the product.

So far, the system looks simple and intuitive and we can see it as a strong competitor on the app store market but we will hold back our final verdict until we can actually test the finished product.



In other news, Nokia also made an update of their location-based micro-blogging service Friend View, which can now run in background and has the option to “…adjust the Friend alerts’ meeting zone to define how close your friends should be to get alerted.” The new version is said to fix some bugs as well.
