Nokia teases yet another new smartphone in Asia, could be the Nokia X7
HMD Global is certainly giving Samsung a run for its money this year when it comes to smartphone releases. Since February, the company has already announced a total of 10 devices covering nearly all price brackets. But despite this, HMD Global still has a few more devices up its sleeves and has just teased yet another new release in Taiwan.
In the teaser, no exact name is given for the upcoming smartphone. However, the image does confirm that it will sport a rather tall display. Now, while not visible in the photo due to the lack of detail, HMD Global’s recent design trends in Asia would suggest that a notch will be present towards the top of the panel. If this is indeed the case, the smartphone in question could possibly be the Nokia X7. After all, this device is set to include a rather wide notch up top and a relatively thick chin down below.
When it comes to the spec sheet of the smartphone, no exact information related to the Nokia X7 has appeared so far. Interestingly, though, one leak from way back in June made mention of an upcoming Nokia-branded handset, codenamed “Phoenix,” that is set to debut by Winter. Additionally, and coinciding with the expected Nokia X7 upper-midrange positioning, this smartphone is set to debut with the Snapdragon 710 on the inside.

Due to the lack of details at this point, it’s worth noting that this is purely speculation for now. However, when the launch timeline is considered, it certainly wouldn’t be impossible. If Nokia does indeed launch the X7 in Asia, though, it’s unclear how the brand will market it elsewhere. After all, the Nokia 7 Plus already exists.
