HMD Global confirms Nokia X5 (5.1 Plus) will soon be available outside China
In a surprising turn of events, Finnish company HMD Global somewhat confirmed that the Nokia X5 won't remain a China exclusive for too long. It's true that before the smartphone was officially unveiled earlier this week, rumors claimed it could be launched globally as Nokia 5.1 Plus.

HMD's Juho Sarvikas recently replied to a Nokia fan that the X5 won't need a poll so that the company can decide whether or not to bring it to other markets. Despite the fact that the mid-range Nokia X5 has been confirmed to arrive in other countries, Sarvikas didn't say when we can expect to be able to purchase it and which regions will get it first.

Nokia X5 is the second smartphone launched by HMD Global that features a display with a notch, after the Nokia X6. Specs-wise, the Nokia X5 is a decent mid-range smartphone featuring a MediaTek Helio P60, as well as 3GB or 4GB RAM.

Also, the smartphone packs a dual camera on the back (13MP+5MP) and an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. Nokia X5 is powered by a 3,060 mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo right out of the box, but you can expect the phone to get updated to Android P at some point this year.

All in all, Nokia X5 seems like a very decent choice for those looking for a mid-range Android smartphone, especially due to HMD's continuous support for all the products in its portfolio.
