Nokia, Verizon come together at SXSW for Nokia Music
Nokia Music allows Nokia Lumia owners to dip into a bag full of 17 million tunes to produce music mixes. It's a free service, but if you decide to pay $3.99 a month for Nokia Music+, you can have unlimited downloads for offline listening, use the service on multiple devices, and try the Nokia gig finder to see where your favorite band is playing tonight.

Speaking of hearing a band play, in Austin it is time for the annual SXSW Festival and Nokia is teaming up with Verizon to promote Nokia Music with a series of concerts. On Sunday, R&B artist Solange will appear at Arlyn Studios in Austin. From Sunday through Thursday there will be performances from artists like Haim, Caveman, Body Parts, He’s my Brother, She’s my Sister, Mayaeni, The Mowgli’s, Wardell and more.

Currently, the lone Lumia model at Verizon is the mid-range Nokia Lumia 822. An exclusive for Big Red, the phone is free with a signed two year contract. There are rumors that Verizon will eventually offer a version of the high-end Nokia Lumia 920. Last month, that phone made a visit to the FCC.
