Nokia announces IFA 2019 press conference; new phones expected
Just one day after HMD Global was spotted on the list of exhibitors at IFA 2019, the company responsible Nokia-branded smartphones has confirmed that it will be attending the event for the “first time ever.”

The Finland-based brand will be holding a press conference in Berlin at 4:00 pm CET/11:00 am EDT/8:00 am PDT on Thursday, September 5. It hasn’t yet revealed what kind of announcements are in store and instead told customers to “stay tuned.” Nevertheless, recent leaks and rumors could provide good indication.

While successors to the Nokia 5.1 and Nokia 6.1 were technically due in January and May, HMD Global appears to have been rethinking its product refresh cycle. The company itself hasn’t yet confirmed the existence of a Nokia 5.2 and Nokia 6.2 but multiple reports do suggest they’re on the way and IFA 2019 could potentially be the perfect place to introduce them.

Accompanying these two devices may also be the Nokia 7.2. Its predecessor wasn’t announced until October but the new model apparently shares its exterior with the Nokia 6.2, therefore making a joint unveiling very likely. It’s unclear at this stage if the Nokia brand has any other smartphones up its sleeves for the near future.

Joining HMD Global at IFA 2019 should be a number of other companies. So far, only LG has confirmed its presence but the likes of Sony and Huawei are to be expected too. LG should be announcing the LG G8X ThinQ and V60 ThinQ, Sony is expected to debut the Xperia 2 and Xperia 20 lines, and Huawei may be introducing the Kirin 990 chipset.

Looks at HMD's invitation teaser compared to LG's... and you will know why LG mobile still struggling and won't be able to shake it off anytime soon.

Yup I agree. I've been saying that Nokia needs to change up how they release phones because a lot of them are derivatives of each other. The way they name them doesn't always help.

He was literally talking about LG struggling, and here you are taking a shots at HMD/Nokia. He said nothing about phones releases or phone names. And you talk about derivatives when the XL Pixel is just a bigger Pixel, lol.

Do you want a block of cheese to go with that whine? I wasn't taking a shot. You're just being your usual self who throws a tantrum at the most trivial of things. Stop crying.

You got caught trolling and called out for it and now you’re resorting to insults because it’s true and you know it lmao! You were taking shots and are now seething with anger and having a tear filled fit because it’s me that pointed it out.

I haven't even insulted you. Stop making stuff up just to justify you trying to pick a fight you can't win. I wasn't taking anything. What I said was rooted in fact. It's not a one way street. You don't get to cry facts when you do it then turn around and throw a tantrum when it happens to you.

Lmao you did, and now you’re backtracking because you got called out for that as well. You keep saying I can’t win, and yet, you always run off in the end. And pointing out the obvious isn’t picking a fight. Stop making stuff up. You were taking shots, plain and simple. You don’t get to cry facts when you do it and then turn around and throw a tantrum when it happens to you. Pot, meet kettle.

Lol I'm not running from anything and certainly not from the likes of you. You are the one who picked the fight. You continue to play with fire, you will get burned. Don't blame me just because you never learn. Stop crying just because I'm posting facts that seem to get you triggered.

Lmao you always run off in the end. Those are the facts. You’re being dramatic by saying I picked a fight. You’re making stuff up. I pointed out the fact that you were taking shots when responding to someone who was talking about a totally different company. Now you’re seething with anger because it was me that pointed it out, but you never do learn. Stop throwing a tantrum and getting triggered because I pointed out what you were doing, and just own up to it for once.

I'm not being dramatic at all. You picked a fight and you know it. Just be a man and own up to it instead of chickensh**ing your way out like you always do. Take the panties off and man up. No need to be afraid. You tried to pick a fight just because I gave my thoughts on something and it backfired right in your face.

You’re always being dramatic, and just like you are now, lol. I pointed out what you were really doing, and instead of being a man and owning up to it, you’re backtracking and switching up, as you usually do when the truth is pointed out about you. And the fact that you’re imagining me in panties is real suspect, I might add. You are being dramatic and picking a fight because I pointed out that he you went off topic and trolled HMD over something that wasn’t mentioned by anyone, not in the article or the guy you responded it. Now the potshot has backfired right in your face, and you’re backtracking and flip flopping worse than a fish out of water.

The 6.2 and 7.2 are what I’m most in interested from HMD. Hopefully they get announced at IFA.

I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for what Nokia may be coming up with next month. The 6.2 seems like a much better device than its predecessor so I may have to cop that jawn if it turns out to be good. Same thing with the 7.2.
