Nokia Browser 2.0 brings faster browsing to Series 40 devices
Those of you using Nokia Series 40 devices have the ability to update your browser starting today. Nokia has officially announced Nokia Browser 2.0, which bring a host of improvements.

"With our new version, we've created a newer, faster, better browsing experience. As many consumers around the world will experience the internet for the first time through a mobile phone, this is a great step towards our goal to connect the 'Next Billion'," explains Dieter May, senior vice president of mobile phones services, Nokia.

The major update is said to reduce data consumption by up to 90%, making Internet access faster and cheaper for many customers.  Nokia Browser 2.0 utilizes cloud-based servers to optimize standard pages for Nokia Series 40 devices. This technique allows pages to load up to three times faster.

The browser features an inviting and intuitive start page that gives users one-click access to top, local sites. The Download Manager has also been improved to easily manage music, videos, and pictures while browsing the Internet.

Nokia Browser 2.0 is available for touch, QWERTY, and non-touch Series 40 devices including the Asha series, the Nokia C3-00, Nokia C2-03, and the Nokia X3-02. The update will be available as an OTA update or it can be downloaded from the Nokia Store for free. It is available in 87 languages in over 200 countries.
