Nokia 808 PureView beats an Olympus PEN E-PL2 camera in blind test
The Nokia 808 PureView has been put through its paces in a blind test against a couple of popular smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S III, the iPhone 4S and the HTC One X, plus the previous cameraphone lead from the company the Nokia N8.

What made the test interesting is not that the 808 PureView beats all the other smartphones, which was to be expected, but that it also got an edge against a quality standalone camera - the Olympus PEN E-PL2 - with 570 vs 243 votes in Nokia's favor.

The quality of the shots from the Olympus cam and the Nokia 808 PureView was apparently hard to tell from each other, and users even gave an overwhelming preference to the samples from the 808 PureView in the blind test. Another, not-so-blind test gave a preference to the shots from Nokia's phone with the PureView technology as well last week.
