The upcoming Nokia 8.1 Plus might actually be the Nokia 6.2

The upcoming Nokia 8.1 Plus might actually be the Nokia 6.2
CAD-based renders of the Nokia 6.2 (Nokia 8.1 Plus)

Five days ago, renders of an upcoming Nokia-branded smartphone were published online. At the time, the device was referred to as the Nokia 8.1 Plus. But according to one reliable tipster, the device will actually launch as the Nokia 6.2. And, to be honest, it all makes perfect sense.

Shortly after the smartphone renders were published, an alleged Nokia 6.2 spec sheet leaked out online. This pointed towards a large 6.2-inch display complete with a punch-hole design, two details that coincide perfectly with the leaked device. Additionally, a dual-camera setup on the rear complete with ZEISS branding was mentioned, a feature which is also present on the leaked device and should allow for a significant boost in image quality over the current-gen Nokia 6.1.

To further back these claims up, last month HMD Global executives revealed that no further devices would be launched with the “Plus” branding which has been in use for the past year. The reason for this decision wasn’t specified at the time but the move could help create a more simplified branding strategy.

As stated by the source of this tip, the Snapdragon 632-powered Nokia 6.2 is currently expected to make its global debut at MWC 2019 in Barcelona later next month. This could be joined by the flagship Nokia 9 PureView if recent rumors are to be believed.

Nice! I really like the rumored specs. Just give it a 3500 mAh battery this time around and price it under 250 for a 3/32 variant. And Nokia could have a potential winner.

They need to bump the specs up to 4/64GB because the 32GB model just isn't enough storage or RAM.

Whether or not it's in the U.S. isn't the point. It's the fact that there is indeed one.

I mentioned this before on an earlier article about the 7.1 Plus. I posted a link with the spec sheet. This look like a nice follow up to the Nokia 6.1.

I think they really should simplify their branding because the whole plus and #. 1 has made things to muddled and confusing.

"Nokia 7.1 and 8.1 have been recently launched and HMD CPO Juho mentioned during Dubai launch that they will no more launch devices with “Plus” name...." That was from here:https://nokiapoweruser.com/a-new-nokia-smartphone-nokia-6-2-with-a-display-hole-leaks-in-3d-renders-360 As shown by the link provided, HMD has stated that they ars no longer using the plus branding. Although, going by that logic, no one should use the plus branding, then. As for me numbers, their sales haven't been affected negatively by the number branding, so going by that, one can say it isn't muddled and confusing.
